Album Review: Inhale Exhale - I Swear

Inhale Exhale have been a favourite scream-core band of mine for a while. When Underoath had worn the record player down I needed something new. A friends introduced me to them and I have to say what a great listen they are.

Their new album is Inhale Exhale.

What's new?

Better production. Much more dirt and a natural analog feel to it. The polish is off it a bit, which is nice. The vocal sit in the mix nicely and the balance is about right for this style of music.

The songs are new and a little more melodic than the last album (which was also a cracker). Some of the choruses and lines sit in your mind a little longer and you could almost imagine yourself singing along.

What separates Inhale Exhale from their peers in my opinion is their ability to create stylish riffs with strong melodies. They don't slip to far into the 'heavy and hardcore' category for me, rather they bounce between solid rocking riffs and heavy pounding rhythms.

Out of 10 for me this album gets a 7/10. Definitely a thumbs up.
