Are Church worship bands playing the wrong tune?

Church music is changing, has changed and will continue to change. What brought about the massive change in the last decade I will never know but I am worried we might be taking it a bit far.
Worship is less worship and more rock concert these days. Is this a requirement to stay relevant to young people. Are the lights, the cameras and the action really all necessary?
Worship leaders and song writers appear to become fat on the royalties and fame that surrounds a successful Worship experience. It's not their fault, we all made it this way. We approved of their marketing and hype machine when we started buying their albums and attending their concerts. The line between Christian Band and Worship Band blurred and the two have become almost inseparable. We all love a good show and why not. But looking at the album covers, the marketing hype and confused lyrics I am surprised that a generation has changed the face of music and no one thought to help it through the transition theologically.
The people behind the music are usually well grounded but no one is immune to the draw of the adoring fans.
When Matt Redman left Soul Survivor I can't help but wonder if the machine had become to much. When Geoff Bullock left Hillsong in a cloud of uncertainty I wonder if two concepts of worship had clashed.
The Bible is clear about Worship and music being at the heart of worshipping God, but have we made it more about advertising, marketing and good music rather than really what it's all about. Is marketing the tool which we must use to distribute the message?
I wonder if we put the band in the music pit, or on the side of stage would the results be the same? Probably not. Is anthem worship a requirement and staple in the church of the future? Will we always fill stadiums with worshiping young people? Is this all a fad?
Have become a church generation that pulls from the front rather than supporting from below. A small church in the country doesn't need the success of a mega church worship band waved in it's face as much as it needs a mega church worship band to come and support from underneath. How can this be done better?
What does it all mean?..would love your thoughts on it...
